Announcing Spring Sesshin:

During this Sesshin, or retreat, we’ll explore Japanese aesthetics with emphasis on what is  elegant, refined, and beautiful.  We’ll see how these aesthetics are expressed in the temple garden. We’ll learn the secret teachings of Japanese garden design on how to create these aesthetic experiences.

The full Sesshin begins on Saturday, June 4, at 9:00 am, and ends Saturday, June 11, at noon. We’ll learn Japanese aesthetics through training in the ‘mandala principle’ and the ‘five elements.’ This is the foundation of Japanese garden design.

The two-day Weekend Program, focusing on the theme “Rock Setting – the Japanese Art of Placement,” will be held 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, June 4 and 5.

Beginners are very welcome!

Please note that registration for both the Weekend Program and the full Sesshin ends June 1.
